    Vibes I get from this song is totally about COVID-19 pandemics, and the "you were there" I thought maybe were her fans, cause at the folklore long pond studio sessions Taylor talked about how she thought it was impossible to make music but she did it anyways and her fans were very supportive

    I think he is more in love with the spotlight of being her boyfriend than in love with her. He has famously fatshamed women, he and his brother giggle over vile misogynistic jokes... No. To me this is toxic lovebombing. He knows she wants nothing more than public display of love and he delivers in a way that seems calculated. But I hope I'm wrong.

    If Taylor needed a guy who was able to make their personal life performative, she definitely shouldn't have dated Joe and definitely not for 6 years. But she probably wouldn't have if not for the hits to her reputation, life & career during 2016 & throughput their relationship. Dont make big decisions when you are in high stress/trauma mode. Joe not marrying her was probably the best decision for both their sakes. Imo.

    Your reaction is very justified because the subject is so sensitive in itself. I had a friend who died by suicide last summer. I read a comment that said that this is about one of Lana's friends who ended her life during a summer and hence, the name because now, every summer she thinks of it. I would know :') I think about some frames of the music video, that are repeated multiple times and it makes me think of how it feels to lose someone. Some memories, more than others, keep replaying in your head during the aftermath and you just can't seem to get them out of your head. It's very disturbing, to say the least. I hope you're feeling better, much love. <3

    Telling someone to get over the loss of a child is the absolute worst thing you can ever say and it makes me frustrated to hear some of these women saying that they were being pressured or rushed by family/friends to get over it as if it's soo easy. The truth is, it's never going to completely go away. The best you can do is support them always, on the worst days you need to just be there. Stop telling people how or when to feel. There's no roadmap and everyone deals with loss differently.

    I don't know if you've read the epilogue that Taylor wrote for the physical copies of the album, but she refers to this period of her life as a "manic episode" and I think this song really fits with that depiction because the whole thing is her very matter-of-factly listing what we as the audience can perceive as red flags, but then she excuses them and says "who else decodes you? Who else knows you like me?" as a justification of staying in the relationship. I think the sigh she does right before singing "Everyone we know understands why it's meant to be" is very telling of what the tone of the song is meant to be. She's trying to convince herself that this is fine, but deep down she knows it's not normal to feel like losing a relationship would make you want to unalive yourself. She sees the red flags but she's choosing to ignore them rather than be alone. I also think "I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)" is a good partner song to this one to really get the vibe of what she's trying to say about how toxic her mindset was when she was with him.

    This song references "Lolita", another song by Lana. In this song she says she wants her cake, she doesn't have relationships with boys because she has a man, but she's actually too young for him. Young And Beautiful makes clear her fear of losing this man because now she's had her cake (this could mean she had a birthday, probably 30) and now she's scared of losing this man because she knows he only likes of young girls. Hope this helps. Love your channel 🖤

    the concept of hard times in regards to “preachers daughter” the album title, is that our narrator is the daughter of a preacher, who has conflicting feelings about whether she wants to keep looking up to him (praying id be like you) or cut him out of her life (im tired of you still tied to me). this song is so devastating and if you listen chronologically with the rest of the album it’s also masterful storytelling.

    Spent the last couple of days watching all of the clips and reactions I could find of Travis and Taylor on stage! I loved every version! Travis is a role model for how you treat and support your significant other. They both deserve the obvious love they have for each other! (P.S.- Just my opinion, but ditch the guy who thought doing a face-time was too much work!

    Also the attachment and struggling with her view of the abuser you were describing, when she says “praying I’d be like you doing all of the things that you do and I still do and that scares me” is actually because the abuser in the story of preachers daughter is actually her father.

    MH wanted to see if he could destroy TS. Dark Triad personality - Sociopath! I think about his timing - what a crude dude. I have been involved with this type and as hard as this is to wrap our heads around - these monstors/demons take great pleasure and joy in destroying others. MH love bombed then TRAAUMA-bonded TS and then ghosted her for his own amusement and pleasure...AND he did this to her as she was just getting started on a world tour. So happy Taylor met Travis right after all this nonsense.

  • @yara5502
    @yara5502 15 часов назад

    I think it´s very understandable at the time that she fell for his toxic love bombing, she had just spent 6 years with a gaslighting prick who had made her feel so small, unseen and insecure, and made her question her entire life, career, personality, humour and most of all her intuition etc.So she was an easy target for Matty to manipulate. But thank God she now has found herself again and trusts herself again and that is why she could manifest the amazing partner she has now, who loves and amires her, loves goofy side , her drive, her empathy and sees her. I am so happy she is happy and healed now ❤ A lot of people also miss the genius funny way of describing Mattys toxic self sabotage mode when she says he ate " 7 bars of chocolate" and is a tatooed Golden retriver, because chocolate is toxic to dogs.

    The 1975 have a song called “Chocolate” and “Paris”. If you wanted to read a lot into the Matty Healy reference camp it could also be interesting that Paris is where Taylor debuted the TTPD section of the Eras tour, also how Post Malone is dressed in the lab coat and trousers in fortnight- Matty had an almost identical outfit on a tour, the Jehovah’s Witness suit line (Mattys notorious outfit of choice-black skinny tie and skinny cut suit), asking for substances from her friends and being ghosted-his experiences with illicit substances is extensive (see “in public showed me off; then sank in stoned oblivion”). In the black dog “when someone plays The Starting Line (band from 2000s) and you jump up/ But she’s too young to know this song….old habits die screaming” he covered that song. He also has a love of type writers (he’s previously mentioned this) and of course the CHARLIE PUTH ref-in 2018 he tweeted how much he liked a track of Charlie’s feat. Boys II Men. People forget that they actually met in 2014 and have gone on and off since then. I’ll admit, I’m a huge 1975 fan, been to their concerts, and love his writing. I can see where they would easily work with each other when it comes to composition and writing but their personal lives and experiences could (and obviously did) cause some issues.

      Yes, she did. She said a friend that had lost a child told her about it and how much the friend identified with it (whether the song is actually about that or not, no one knows) That’s what’s so awesome about music, how we can all relate to it in different ways.

    I had a feeling, as a person who is also dealing with mental illness, that the line "they told me all of my cages were mental" kinda sounded like someone comes to you and says 'oh, but, why are you feeling so bad, everything is fine, this is thing is only inside your head, you can get get rid of it', like, depression or anxiety or addiction, is something we could simply realize is been droven by thoughts and feelings there aren't real, they're 'only inside our heads', like our "mental cages", because I get that a lot from people who don't understand the diseases...
